I'm not sure where to even start with this one. There are so many scenes done in such a unique way that I haven't seen before. It's a tough movie to talk about since I went in not knowing a single thing other than the title, so I wouldn't want to spoil any plot surprises. The first time I took delivery of X-Wing ships, their quality just blew me away. Over nine full waves and the odd side release, we've become bored by perfection. Cracking open the clamshell on this batch, assembling dials and storing away the models felt almost mechanical. Then I sat down to makes some lists to test them out. It took two hours to make one competitive fleet for each of the three factions. Two hours I could have spent playing instead. I know that for list based games like X-Wing, making rosters is kind of playing....

Really fun feel-good movie that has a couple of highly impactful scenes. This being a chess movie might turn non-chess fans off but it doesn't get deep into game theory at all, but it will still delight chess players just the same. It covers the real-life story of a young girl growing up in a Uganda slum who develops a knack for chess. Sounds simple in a nutshell but there's some really great scenes (the slumkids sleeping on the floor of a local fancy school hit me light a freight train). ...
